This week I’ve been doing some food photography styling and shooting for my fourth book. Above is a sneak peek at one of the foodie photos I took — a delicious stack of macarons that I scored at a little French cafe in the Old Port. The purple one is my fav! — sweet lavender cream. Mmmm. Exotic-tasting and delicious. I enhanced the photo of the macarons and the other photos in this post with MCP Actions’s Spring Splendor Photoshop Actions set (for Photoshop and Elements). It’s so much fun to play around with this company’s high-quality, highly creative and artistic actions! I achieved these looks by mixing and matching multiple actions in the set and tweaking different aspects of each action. I love how customizable they are, and how I am free to use as few or as many actions as I want to achieve the look I am after. Want to know which actions (from the Spring Splendor set) I used for each of these photos? For the macarons I used Spring Splendor as a base, and added Dewdrops, Fruit Salad, and Spring Haze (and I made some customized tweaks that worked with my particular photos). I’ve included my action ‘recipes’ below each photograph (Keep in mind you don’t need to use as many actions as I did to achieve a great look, and you can tweak each action to get just the effect you are aiming for). Jodi provides wonderful tutorials on her site if you are new to the world of actions, or need some tips.
