My sweet friend Hillary of Lush Folk surprised me with an ornate carved box filled with luxurious, soulful gifts, one of my favorites being her handcrafted nourishing body oil called Dark Moon. That evening I put on spiritual singing bowls music, anointed my skin with her alluring, dark, dreamy and mystical potion, lit the candle and a stick of fragrant incense, poured myself a glass of tawny port, and cozied up by the wood stove fire, slipping into a cocoon of woman soul warmth and connection.
I allowed my mind to drift and began to think about what it means to be wild in nature. I know what it feels like. I know what it looks like, but I wanted to take the time to reflect on the concept and put it into words. I crafted a list in my new, gifted journal…
- embracing all of who you are, the good and the bad
- being authentic; naked like a tree; living through one’s spirit
- noticing and wondering
- tapping into ancient wisdom and one’s natural intelligence
- opening up to and exploring the senses
- moving the body
- going on adventures
- being creative
- following intuition
- expressing gratitude for the gifts of life
- leaning into life as it is
- to breathe and to be
- healing
- slowing down and having patience
- rolling with natural cycles and rhythms
- choosing love and everyday magic
- claiming your own wildness
- using your voice
- awakening
- reclaiming disowned pieces
- exploring the shades of emotions
- reflecting
- following passion
- seeking invigorating experiences
- acting with heartfelt intention
- embracing yin and yang (a soft woman warrior)
- staying true to one’s path
- plumbing the soul river
What does it mean to embrace and embody your wildness?
