The Wood

Each Fall it is time to stack wood for the winter, to keep us warm and toasty. So much work to be done before it snows, which can happen as early as late October in these parts. The mister kept stacking while I took the kiddos into our woods for a hike. It was late afternoon and the light was magical…Our son is 11 and not quite as eager to be photographed as our daughter, who loves it. When I asked to photograph him, he settled into a spot with his walking stick and closed his eyes in a meditative pose. While daughter asked me to photograph her running down the tractor path!…Oh, such joy! What a teacher she is.
