yellow and orange

Yellow and orange — seen today in many forms. I love the combination! This morning I dressed in yellow and gray with an orange accessory wrapped around my finger. Sipped coffee from my favorite lemony mug. The Easter lily bloomed — yes, these same colors! Cut a ripe pear, lounged on my favorite stool, opened the front door to a view of wild blooms — orange, yellow! I volunteered at my children’s school — one boy made magnificent artwork in orange and yellow only. I came home, opened my mailbox, found the latest Martha Stewart Living issue — orange and yellow swirly meringues on the cover! I wonder what else the day has in store for me?

  • i will do almost ANYTHING for these. I like them stale, or nuked for exactly 10 seconds. Heaven! I’m definitely a candy geek.
  • I am enraptured by this book by Deborah Feldman — oh, oh, oh! — a strong, independent, beautiful, shiny soul!! The combination of her sheltered life experience and her old, sage-like soul have given this amazing woman such a unique, beaming, courageous, and empowering voice. You must read this. Every woman must read this. As should the men that love them. Watch the author interviewed here, and see Barbara Walters well up with tears. It is worth taking the time to view.

Beginning again feels so good…

The growing season in Maine is not very lengthy, so we are working to extend the season by warming up our garden beds with plastic sheeting fitted over pvc hoops. There is a brown package waiting on the old farm table (it is actually glowing in my mind’s eye), filled with all kinds of seeds ready to be sown — vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers. I cannot wait to begin again:)
