snow

Susan Tuttle PhotographyThe first blizzard of the season landed Saturday evening and brought a little over a foot of snow and frigid temperatures below 0. Brrr. We’ve been keeping toasty-warm by the fire, bundling up in wooly winterwear, sipping hot tea and cocoa, and making merry with friends at our neighbor’s holiday party catered by the most amazing chef from Portland. Boy do they know how to throw a party! And oh, did I ever stuff my belly! — with oysters, pâté, mussels, shrimp with a zesty cocktail sauce, fine wine, warm dates filled with melted blue cheese, Swedish meatballs stuffed with artisan cheese and bedecked in a sauce I cannot put into words, crab meat spread slathered on buttery, crisp homemade crackers, radicchio and micro greens salad, glazed ham, coconut cream cupcakes, pecan pie, apple pie … my! — sorry, I can’t stop thinking about that party on Saturday night; I’m still in a gastronomic tizzy over it! The very thought of that special feast continues to keep me warm …as well as the extra workout time I need to burn it all off — lol! Indulgence — one of the best parts of the holiday experience, no? I hope you are treating yourself and en-JOY-ing some tasty food.Susan Tuttle PhotographySusan Tuttle PhotographySusan Tuttle PhotographySusan Tuttle PhotographySharing what I’ve been up to lately:
