Summer Reads

We had sun today for the first time in days, maybe a week, more? I’ve lost count. Woot! Yippee! Run outside. Do a dance. Soak it up. Spin. Multiple sighs and praising gutterals to the sky! Love! Then dig in the dirt for hours on end. YES! That was me today. A great way to start the holiday. What did we do in the rain all these days? Lots of cuddly reading in bed together. Playing violin. Studying the map of the world. Napping. Indoor playdates. Drinking mint herbal tea, steeped from fresh-cut chocolate and orange mint leaves from the garden. Foreign films. Symphonic music. Theater camp. Baking banana chocolate chip bread. More naps.:) What are my summer reads? Well, so far…

  • The Orchardist, by Amanda Coplin. Not a lighthearted read by any means, but so much depth, feeling, and true love in the face of tragedy. I know summer invites lighter reads but oh, do I LOVE this book!
  • The latest issue of Mother Earth Living. I’m learning how to grow more in less space, embrace healing weeds, and make simple, affordable natural body-care products. This publication gives me space to breathe and inspires me to create an even more natural, simple life.
  • Have you been bit by the Kinfolk bug? Sigh. Oh! Love! So much beauty in the way of photography, creative writing, and ideas for living an adventurous life each and every day! I am indulging in the latest issue — Kinfolk vol 8.

Thank you for stopping by. XO. Love!
