Impossible Humans :: An Exhibition in Rome

~and from his lips escaped a groan~  and  ~eyes turned inwardly~

You are an artist. A creative soul. I know, because you are here, taking the time to make a connection through art. I am an artist too; a photographer, a painter, a writer, a musician. I seek to enrich my life and the lives of others through the arts. Creativity is Lifeblood. Without it, we could not live well. I have voiced this many times. I have heard you say it too.

Creativity is pulsing heart. Soul awakening. Raw. Natural. Real. Art invites you to see. It allows you to feel. To think for yourself. To unearth ideas and make connections and revelations. It can foster community, which multiplies its effects exponentially; bringing people together to construct and partake in positive and transformative creative experiences that could not be brought to fruition by one person alone…

…As a testament to this form of thinking, I want to tell you about a collective artistic visionary performance and mobile art exhibition I am proud to be a part of… a New Era Museum event called Impossible Humans :: The Unexpected Happening in Rome! Two of my iPhone art pieces (as seen above), one winning the Pollock Project Award, were selected to be a part of this show, alongside the stellar mobile artworks of several other international artists. The exhibit opens at Rome’s grand Auditorium Parco Della Musica with a multimedia performance called The Unexpected Happening on March 12, 2016. “This event is a multimedia performance of contemporary art, music and new visual arts, where the Pollock Project jazz ensemble meets the imaginative world of the artists from the New Era Museum (NEM).” In addition to the contemporary performance, the exhibition Impossible Humans will take place at Galleria Lancellotti in Rome, from March 11- 26, 2016.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the jurors for their hard work and most of all to Andrea Bigiarini, founder of the New Era Museum, and creator and organizer of this sensational public event. He has made this communal offering possible through his forward-thinking, vision, and dedication to the arts.

The power of the arts and its potential to generate profound impact on the human experience, never ceases to amaze me, especially when it involves a large group of creatives working together; artists, musicians, visionaries; all connecting to create something much larger than anything they could have ever conceived of and birthed by themselves alone.

I am grateful to Manuela Matos Monteiro, who has given me permission to post her lovely captures of the events…
